Good Faith Estimate

The cost of services depends on a number of factors including your provider’s fee, frequency of services, and duration of treatment. You can receive an estimate of service costs as described below.

As of January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

What is your cancellation policy?

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. All sessions require a 48 notice of cancellation. Sessions not cancelled at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment will be charged at the full session fee.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance; however, if your plan has an Out-Of-Network benefit, I can provide you with a Superbill, which is a form that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact your insurance company directly, so they can provide you with the most up to date information.

What is therapy, and how long will I be in therapy?

Therapy is a safe space where you can openly and honestly discuss any life issues you may choose in a non-judgmental environment. There is no specific time frame for therapy. It can vary anywhere between a few months to a few years. It all depends on you – on your engagement and progress in therapy.

Do you offer sessions by phone/video sessions?

I do offer sessions by phone/video when appropriate. I also offer in-home sessions (within covered service area) for those who cannot come in or who prefer to have sessions in the comfort of their own home.

How do I know if you would be a good fit?

I offer all clients a 20-minute consultation prior to scheduling our first appointment.

*Consultations are rated at $30 per 20-minute consultation and the cost can be used as credit towards your initial Intake Session should we determine we are a good fit.

At this time, you’ll have the opportunity to tell me what brings you to therapy as well as ask me any questions you may have. If we decide that we’re a good fit, then I’ll invite you to schedule your first appointment.

Will I have fun in therapy?

Therapy is very personal – unique to you.

You may experience a wide range of emotions and experiences, and yes! Fun is on the list.

There will be many moments of laughter – we may share a humorous moment, and I may even laugh at myself!

What happens if I cry in session?

It’s ok. If you cry in session, I’ll be there to help support you and provide you with as many tissues as you desire. I welcome all of you – including your tears.
